GARBAGE, TRASH, RECYCLING & YARD WASTE

Grandview Recycles every other week.  Trash pickup is twice weekly.  See Calendar page for dates for special items.  Hazardous waste must be taken to the County HazMat site in Pomona (click here).  Details and rules for Village pickups follow:

GARBAGE: Putrescible & non-putrescible solid waste, for example: food matter.   Does not include hazardous wastes, liquids, sludges, or recycables.

Pick up at your location.

 

TRASH: Solid waste, non-toxic, in heavy duty fastened bags. Maximum weight of 60 pounds or thirty gallons. Can include items of durable nature.

 

NO CARDBOARD – CARDBOARD GOES OUT WITH RECYCLING.

Pick up at your location.

 

BULK TRASH: Carpeting, furniture, household appliances. Examples: refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioner, hot water heater.

 

NO CARDBOARD – CARDBOARD GOES OUT WITH RECYCLING

At curbside one day before pick up.

Pick up at curbside.

 

YARD WASTE: Grass clippings and cuttings from shrubs, hedges & trees. Short branches (less than 6 ft long) need to be tied into sections not more than 60 pounds. Dispose of in paper bags or loose in garbage pails –

 

NO PLASTIC BAGS OF ANY KIND.

Every other Tuesday April through November only at curbside.

 

LEAVES: To be bagged eparately and picked up four (4) times a year, on dates to be set by the Mayor.

 

RECYCLABLES: Newspapers, magazines, telephone and paperback books, junk mail, plastic containers, cans, milk cartons, juice boxes, glass bottles.

 

LARGE CORRUGATED CARDBOARD BOXES (i.e. SHIPPING BOXES, MOVING BOXES, HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE CONTAINERS, ETC.) MUST BE BROKEN DOWN, FOLDED & TIED INTO BUNDLES NO LARGER THAN 3 FEET X 3 FEET.

 

SMOOTH CARDBOARD (i.e. CEREAL BOXES, DRIED FOOD BOXES, GIFT BOXES, ETC.) DO NOT NEED TO BE BUNDLED AND SHOULD BE PLACED IN THE RECYCLING BIN.  

Paper products & containers (glass, cans, plastics, etc) must be placed in separate bins.

At curbside one day before pick up.

Pick up every other Thursday at curbside.
